Former Flying Eagles Coach John Obuh has been appointed the new head
coach of top Glo Premier League side Rangers International Of Enugu. Obuh
is expected to turn around the fortunes of the Flying Antelopes who
have failed to land any major silverware on the national or
International scene in over two decades.
Obuh says he is happy with
the opportunity given him to lead one of the country's most traditional
outfits, promising to do his best possible to lead the team to success on
all fronts.
“It is
an honour for me to be saddled with the task of leading Rangers back to a
trophy-winning side it used to be. It’s a big challenge, which I hope to carry
out successfully,” he vowed.
Obuh
has long been linked with Rangers ever since he quit as coach of the country’s
U20 team, but several Rangers top officials have denied this connection. Obuh
replaces Okey Emordi, who quit his post on the final day of the past season. He has coached several clubs including Sharks, Kwara United, Niger Tornadoes and
Wikki Tourists.
