The Iranian team will face Nigeria tomorrow at the Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium.
“Ever since I can remember, Nigeria has been one of the FIFA U-17 World Cup favorites. Nigeria and Brazil are the most powerful teams,” Doostimehr said. “It is really difficult playing against Nigeria but we want to go ahead, that’s why we are here. I promise to do our best against the team,” he added. “The Iranian people love football and I thank them all to pray for us,” Doostimehr concluded.
After their draw with the South American champions and a 1-1 stalemate against Canada, Iran finally edged a close encounter with Austria 1-0 to take second place in the group, in what is their third appearance at this tournament.
